Cemminerals, a Belgian-headquartered company in the Cement, lime and plaster industry, reported approximately 531.5 million kg CO2e in total emissions for 2023. This included around 12.7 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, about 38.6 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and approximately 481.2 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

For 2022, their total emissions were about 530.8 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 12.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based at around 48.9 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 469.5 million kg CO2e. In 2021, total emissions stood at roughly 673.1 million kg CO2e, comprising around 18.6 million kg CO2e in Scope 1, approximately 58.8 million kg CO2e in Scope 2 market-based, and about 595.8 million kg CO2e in Scope 3.

Cemminerals has established Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments to mitigate its climate impact. The company pledges to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 28% by 2030, using a 2019 base year. Additionally, Cemminerals is committed to measuring and reducing its Scope 3 emissions. These near-term targets have been approved via a streamlined validation route for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and are considered consistent with keeping global warming to well-below 2°C.
