Grenergy, headquartered in Spain and operating in the Electricity by solar thermal sector, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 276.19 million kg CO2e in 2024. This figure includes Scope 1 emissions of around 733,200 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions of approximately 70,400 kg CO2e (or 1.1 million kg CO2e location-based), and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 321.84 million kg CO2e. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions in 2024 were purchased goods and services (approximately 272.57 million kg CO2e), business travel (around 1.06 million kg CO2e), and employee commute (approximately 559,800 kg CO2e).

In 2023, Grenergy's total emissions were approximately 228.23 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at around 448,900 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions at roughly 58,900 kg CO2e (or 683,000 kg CO2e location-based), and Scope 3 emissions around 227.72 million kg CO2e.

Grenergy has set ambitious climate commitments. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2040, a decade ahead of European and national targets. They have also committed to a 60% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030, using 2021 as a baseline. Furthermore, Grenergy targets a 50% reduction in relative Scope 3 GHG emissions (per sales) by 2030, also against a 2021 baseline. These targets are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C, as validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for Grenergy Renovables S.A, an SME. The SBTi-approved targets include a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and a 100% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2050 from a 2021 base year, to reach net-zero.
