Nutanix: Carbon Emissions and Climate Commitments

Nutanix, a US-based company operating in the computer and related services industry, has disclosed its carbon emissions data. In 2024, the company reported 18,626,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions and 53,124,000 kg CO2e for Scope 3 emissions. For the previous year, 2023, Nutanix reported 16,871,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2 and 52,471,000 kg CO2e for Scope 3. In 2022, Scope 2 emissions were approximately 14,798,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 3 emissions totalling around 46,153,000 kg CO2e. In 2021, Scope 1 emissions were 330,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were 72,017,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were approximately 67,073,000 kg CO2e.

Nutanix has established climate commitments, including targets to reduce emissions. They aim to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 60% by 2025, using a 2020 baseline. Additionally, a target to reduce Scope 1 emissions by 50% from a 2020 baseline by 2030 is in place, with a similar 50% reduction goal for Scope 2 emissions by the same year. The company also aims to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to near zero by mid-2025. Nutanix has been actively engaging in strategies such as creating digital experiences for major annual events to eliminate travel and accommodation needs, contributing to emission reductions.
