Plexus, a US-based electrical machinery and apparatus manufacturer, has reported its latest carbon emissions data. In 2025, Plexus's total emissions are projected to be approximately 411.26 million kg CO2e. This includes about 2.88 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 2.06 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions, and approximately 407.24 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. Within Scope 3, significant contributors include roughly 200 million kg CO2e from the use of sold products, 100 million kg CO2e from purchased goods and services, and about 10 million kg CO2e each from upstream and downstream transportation and distribution.

In 2024, Plexus's Scope 3 emissions were approximately 404.44 million kg CO2e, with combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions around 4.85 million kg CO2e. Looking back to 2023, Scope 3 emissions were approximately 461.68 million kg CO2e, and combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions were about 5.67 million kg CO2e. In 2022, Scope 3 emissions were approximately 842.47 million kg CO2e, with combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions at roughly 5.30 million kg CO2e.

Plexus has demonstrated a commitment to reducing its emissions. The company achieved an absolute reduction of 6.4% in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in fiscal year 2024 compared to fiscal year 2023. This reduction was driven by the implementation of over 40 energy-focused projects, including equipment optimisation, replacement of significant energy users, and expansion of solar energy technology, with a strong emphasis on decreasing purchased electricity consumption at manufacturing sites.
