Temenos's Climate Commitments and Emissions Performance

Temenos, a computer and related services company headquartered in CH, is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with a baseline year of 2019. This ambitious target is aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) methodology.

In terms of emissions, for the reporting year 2025, Temenos reported a total of approximately 79.2 billion kg CO2e. This total comprises:

• Scope 1: Approximately 562,000 kg CO2e, primarily from stationary combustion and fugitive emissions.
• Scope 2: Approximately 3.5 billion kg CO2e from purchased electricity.
• Scope 3: Approximately 74.2 billion kg CO2e, with significant contributions from the use of sold products and purchased goods and services.

For the reporting year 2024, Temenos's total emissions were approximately 70.3 billion kg CO2e, including Scope 1 emissions of about 502,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 4.0 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 65.8 billion kg CO2e.

Looking back, for the reporting year 2023, total emissions were approximately 61.9 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 517,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 4.3 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 57.1 billion kg CO2e. In 2022, total emissions were approximately 86.8 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 578,300 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 5.1 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 81.5 billion kg CO2e. In 2021, total emissions were approximately 10.3 billion kg CO2e, including Scope 1 emissions of about 536,400 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 4.8 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 5.0 billion kg CO2e. In 2020, total emissions were approximately 9.7 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 706,400 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 5.0 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 4.0 billion kg CO2e. In 2019, total emissions were approximately 70.5 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 673,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 5.7 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 27.5 billion kg CO2e. In 2018, total emissions were approximately 34.7 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 607,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 5.0 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 29.1 billion kg CO2e.

Temenos has established several reduction targets:

• A commitment to achieve a 50% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, using 2019 as the baseline year. This target is aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario.
• An absolute reduction of 46.2% in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030, compared to the 2019 baseline.
• A long-term goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with a 90% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions and the removal of residual emissions.
