UST, a US-based company operating in the computer and related services industry (72), has reported significant carbon emissions and established ambitious climate commitments.

For the year 2024, UST reported total emissions of approximately 41.4 million kg CO2e. This figure is comprised of Scope 1 emissions totalling around 829,390 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions at approximately 7.9 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions amounting to roughly 32.7 million kg CO2e. The primary contributors to Scope 3 emissions include employee commute (about 19.3 million kg CO2e), fuel and energy-related activities (approximately 2.8 million kg CO2e), and waste generated in operations (around 2.7 million kg CO2e).

In 2023, UST's total emissions were approximately 47.8 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 840,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 10 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 36.9 million kg CO2e.

UST is committed to substantial emissions reductions. Their roadmap includes achieving a 25% reduction in emissions by 2025, 50% by 2030, and 75% by 2035, with the ultimate goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2040. These targets encompass Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Furthermore, UST Global Inc commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 60.0% by 2033 from a 2023 base year, and by 90.0% by 2040. They also commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 35.0% by 2033 and by 90.0% by 2040. UST Global Inc also commits to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2040, aligning with 1.5°C pathways.
