LANXESS has set ambitious climate commitments. They aim for climate neutrality for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2040 and net-zero for Scope 3 emissions by 2050. Specifically, the company commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 25% within the same timeframe, which was validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). These targets are consistent with reductions required to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
