Company climate targets dataset for Scope 3 analysis
Company-stated climate targets from reports, CDP responses and transition plans, including the ones the SBTi has not validated. Free sample CSV and API.

What is the company climate targets dataset?
A structured record of the climate targets companies have publicly stated, whether or not the SBTi has validated them. Each target carries its type, its baseline and target years, the stated reduction, the scopes it covers, the source document it came from and the date of that document.
Why look beyond SBTi-validated targets?
Validated targets are the strongest signal, and they are a minority of the targets that exist. Companies set reduction goals in annual reports, sustainability disclosures, CDP responses, transition plans and on their own websites without ever taking them to the SBTi. Screen your suppliers and portfolio companies on SBTi status alone and those companies come back as having no ambition at all, which is usually wrong.
How do you tell a strong target from a weak one?
The dataset carries the fields that decide it: whether the target is absolute or intensity-based, which scopes it covers, whether Scope 3 is included, the baseline year, the target year and the stated reduction percentage. It also carries a validation status, so a company-stated target is never presented as a validated one, and a target status, so an expired or superseded target is visible as expired rather than counted as live.
DitchCarbon provides verified emissions data for over 2 million organisations, so procurement, sustainability and finance teams can measure and act on supply chain and portfolio emissions from one source.

Frequently asked questions

Any emissions reduction or net-zero goal a company has published: in an annual report, a sustainability report, a CDP response, a transition plan or on its website. The dataset records what was stated, where it was stated and when, and marks whether the SBTi has validated it.
The SBTi dataset covers targets the Science Based Targets initiative has validated, or that companies have committed to validate. This dataset is wider: it includes those, and every other target a company has stated publicly without SBTi involvement. Teams use them together, one for ambition and one for credibility.
They stay in the dataset with their status marked. A target that has expired, been withdrawn or been superseded tells you more than a blank, especially when you are assessing whether an organisation follows through.
Yes. Targets are matched to organisations through entity resolution against DUNS, LEI and ISIN identifiers, so a target sits next to the Scope 1, 2 and 3 figures for the same legal entity, and next to that entity's recorded reduction actions.
Each record carries the date of the source document and the date DitchCarbon last retrieved it, so you can filter to targets confirmed within a window you choose rather than trusting a single refresh date.
Yes. Claim your profile to review the targets recorded against your company, correct anything out of date, and add targets you have set since your last report.
