In 2023, Astm's total emissions were approximately 2.43 billion kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of approximately 72.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of about 9.15 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling approximately 2.35 billion kg CO2e. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions included purchased goods and services at around 2.23 billion kg CO2e, capital goods at roughly 53 million kg CO2e, and fuel and energy-related activities at about 29.2 million kg CO2e.

Astm, based in IT, has set several climate commitments. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54% by 2030 from a 2020 base year, a target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additionally, Astm is committed to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 11.1% by 2030, using a 2021 base year, which is also a near-term SBTi target. Earlier internal targets included a 30% reduction in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from 2020 levels by 2030. The company also aims for net-zero emissions by 2050 for Scope 1 and 2.
