Kyndryl's environmental commitments include achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. As part of this, they have set near-term targets, aiming for a 75% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, using fiscal year 2023 as a baseline. Additionally, they aim to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 50% by 2030 from the same baseline. Kyndryl also commits to targeted reductions in Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, and fuel and energy-related activities within the same timeframe.

In fiscal year 2025, Kyndryl reported total carbon emissions of approximately 943,952,000 kg CO2e. This total comprises Scope 1 emissions of about 37,834,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions of approximately 196,405,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions amounting to approximately 709,713,000 kg CO2e.

For fiscal year 2024, the company's total emissions were approximately 1,032,213,000 kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of about 33,890,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions of approximately 258,113,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling around 740,210,000 kg CO2e.

In fiscal year 2023, Kyndryl's total emissions were approximately 1,156,989,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions around 37,316,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions at approximately 280,761,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling about 838,912,000 kg CO2e.

Kyndryl has validated its 2040 net-zero target through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has demonstrated progress by reducing Scope 1 emissions by 9% and Scope 2 market-based emissions by 8% in fiscal year 2023 compared to the fiscal year 2023 baseline. The company is also a signatory to the Climate Pledge.
