Sthree's climate commitments include achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, from a 2019 base year. This commitment is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with targets consistent with keeping warming to 1.5°C.

For near-term targets, Sthree PLC commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 77% by 2030, from a 2019 base year. Additionally, the company aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2019 base year. Sthree PLC also commits to increasing its annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 28% in 2019 to 100% by 2030.

Looking at long-term targets, Sthree PLC commits to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050, again from a 2019 base year.

In 2024, Sthree's total reported emissions were approximately 20,325,000 kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of around 2,285,000 kg CO2e (primarily from mobile combustion at 2,218,000 kg CO2e), Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity of approximately 379,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling about 17,661,000 kg CO2e. Key categories within Scope 3 were purchased goods and services (9,288,000 kg CO2e), downstream leased assets (2,871,000 kg CO2e), and employee commute (1,607,000 kg CO2e).

For 2023, the total reported emissions were approximately 23,734,000 kg CO2e. This comprised Scope 1 emissions of about 2,563,000 kg CO2e (with mobile combustion at 2,455,000 kg CO2e), Scope 2 emissions of approximately 414,000 kg CO2e from purchased electricity, and Scope 3 emissions totalling around 20,751,000 kg CO2e. Notable Scope 3 contributions included purchased goods and services (16,461,000 kg CO2e), business travel (1,338,000 kg CO2e), and employee commute (1,548,000 kg CO2e).
