Project based segmentation

DitchCarbon holds separate projects inside one account, so a division, a reporting year or a client engagement can be measured on its own and against the whole.

Can I keep different parts of the business separate?

Projects separate one set of organisations and spend from another inside the same account. A division, a legal entity, a reporting year or a consultancy's individual client each gets its own project, and any figure can be read for one project or across all of them.

A group total is rarely the only number a team needs. A divisional CFO wants their own, an auditor wants one legal entity, and a consultancy running several client programmes needs them not to mix.

Because a project is a scope rather than a copy of the data, an organisation appearing in two projects is still one organisation with one set of emissions and one change history underneath.

Every organisation is assigned to a project when it is created, so the segmentation holds from the first import rather than being reconstructed later.

Old way
A separate account, or a separate spreadsheet, per division.
new way
One account, projects inside it, one number underneath.
