Scope 3 baseline from your vendor list

DitchCarbon builds a Scope 3 baseline from a vendor list and spend data, and states on the figure itself whether organisation emission factors were used.

How do I get a Scope 3 number I can defend?

Load a vendor list and the spend against it. DitchCarbon returns a total in kgCO2e for the whole portfolio, and says underneath which basis produced it, organisation emission factors where an organisation has published them. Numbers you can defend within 2 weeks, without asking a single organisation for anything.

The baseline starts from public data, so most of a supplier list or portfolio is matched and calculated before anyone sends a request. A recent deployment reached about 60% of a large supplier base within 2 weeks.

The basis is printed next to the number rather than buried in a methodology page. Where an organisation has published its own Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant upstream Scope 3, the calculation uses that organisation's own factor. Where it has not, a published industry factor set applies.

Every figure carries its source and change history, so a total can be followed back to the document it came from. The calculator behind it is verified to ISO 14064-3, limited assurance, by UL Solutions, renewed annually.

The same figure serves procurement, sustainability and finance teams, because it is one number with one method rather than three exports that disagree.

Old way
One big Excel file of invoices, and a number nobody wants to defend.
new way
One total, with the method printed next to it.
