Supplier reduction plans

DitchCarbon turns each ranked reduction recommendation into a plan for that supplier: a goal, an action plan, the questions to ask, a suggested contract clause and the peer evidence behind it, ready to copy into a meeting.

What do I actually say to a supplier about reducing its emissions?

Open the recommendation and the conversation is written. Each one carries a goal for that supplier and category, an action plan drawn from what a named peer did, four questions to ask, a suggested contract clause with a date and a shortfall remedy, and the peer's own reported actions behind it, each linked to its source document.

A supplier reduction plan in the DitchCarbon portal: suggested impact, goal, action plan, peer case study, questions to ask, suggested contract clause and the sourced supporting actions, each with a copy button.

The reason most supplier reduction conversations stall is that the buyer arrives with a target and nothing else. The supplier agrees in principle and asks what, specifically, is being requested. The plan answers that before the meeting is booked.

Every recommendation starts from data DitchCarbon already holds on the supplier, so the goal is set against its own emissions in the category that matters, with the category level reduction and the impact on your upstream total stated up front. The action plan is built from a peer that has already made the reduction, with the peer's trend over two or five years on an intensity basis, and a badge saying whether it is a direct competitor or a similar company.

The four questions and the contract clause are the parts procurement uses. The clause names the commitment, a date, a reporting cadence and a shortfall remedy, with placeholders where the commercial terms belong. Each block has a copy button, so the plan goes into a meeting deck or an RFP without retyping.

Underneath sits the evidence: the sentences extracted from the peer's reports that produced the recommendation, each with the document named and linked. A supplier can be pointed at the recommendation through DitchSurveys to review it and upload its own action plan, so the reply comes back in the same place the ask was made.
